Welcomm Support our Local Community
As a team of local people, at Welcomm we take our corporate social responsibilities seriously. We are very active in our community, proudly supplying communication solutions to many local businesses, fundraising for our charity partners, as well as sponsoring and volunteering at local events.
We are proud to have had our charitable efforts recognised by being awarded ‘Business-Community Impact of the Year‘ in the Market Harborough District Business Awards.
Recent Activities
Baking at the Eco-Village: A Rewarding Volunteer Day
Believing in the power of giving back and making a difference in our community, our Welcomm Team spent a rewarding day volunteering at the Eco-Village, embracing the spirit of teamwork and support.
As part of a fantastic pumpkin-fest, the team rolled up their sleeves to cook three delicious dishes – pumpkin pasta, pumpkin couscous and pumpkin curry. The activity brought people together through food and shared experiences. Volunteering isn’t only about giving time; it is also about creating connections, living our values and supporting our local community.
Tackling Youth Homelessness
Ending youth homelessness and facilitating employment for young people is essential for breaking the cycle of poverty, promoting economic stability, and enhancing social inclusion. Stable housing and meaningful work not only improve physical and mental health but also provide a pathway to financial independence and a productive future. By addressing these issues, we help ensure that all young people can thrive and contribute positively to society.
In response to vulnerable youth, The Street Soccer Foundation: the national award-winning sport-for-change charity organised The Big Goal. Our team took part in a series of national football tournaments to raise money for the charity and enable over 1,600 young people to join Street Soccer Foundation Academies. Taking on The Big Sleep Challenge
We are partnering with The Bridge Homelessness to create a welcoming and safe space for companionship, progress and collaboration. The Big Sleep is a fundraising event where participants spend a night outdoors to raise awareness and funds for homelessness.
By experiencing a night without the comforts of home, we aim to better understand the challenges faced by those who are homeless. Our involvement demonstrates our commitment to social responsibility and the importance of support services.
Rooting for a Greener Future
Our Welcomm Team took part in a tree-planting initiative with Harborough woodland, helping to create greener spaces and contribute to a more sustainable future. Tree planting plays a crucial role in combating climate change and improving air quality, providing essential habitats for wildlife.
By getting involved, we’re reinforcing our commitment to environmental sustainability and giving back to our community. Small actions create a healthier planet for future generations!
10K Inflatable Run: Improving Lives of People in Our Community
Understanding the importance of supporting lonely and isolated individuals, we are proud to work with our local charity partner, Voluntary Action South Leicestershire (VASL). We recognise the profound impact that social connection and community support have on overall well-being.
In support of VASL charity, our Welcomm Team took part in a 10K Inflatable Run 2024 to raise funds for our charity partner. We raised a grand total of £1,103, exceeding our goal above and beyond. We are passionate about making a difference in our community.
Lighting Up Lives
Our team had the privilege of volunteering at the Light Up a Life – Light Trail event. We spent the day helping to set up the stunning, festive lights for LOROS Hospice’s Memory Light Trail. It was a meaningful and rewarding experience, as we contributed to creating an atmosphere of warmth and remembrance for families and friends honouring their loved ones.
LOROS Hospice plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals and families facing some of life’s most difficult moments. The Light Trail serves as a heartfelt tribute, offering people a chance to remember and celebrate the lives of those they have lost.

LOROS Hospice
LOROS provides free, compassionate care and support to terminally ill patients, their families and carers across Leicestershire.
As a team, we are proud to support LOROS through ongoing fundraising activity, recently raising over £1,000 in aid of the hospice. With personal connections across our team and a shared commitment to giving back, we continue to support LOROS initiatives throughout the year to help sustain their vital work.
Street Soccer Foundation
The Street Soccer Foundation helps vulnerable young people improve their lives through football and is the founder of The Big Goal, a leading football-led project tackling youth homelessness.
Giving back to our community is at the heart of Welcomm. Since 2023, #TeamWelcomm has participated in The Big Goal, engaging participants through games and employability workshops to empower them.
VASL
Voluntary Action South Leicestershire (VASL) is a local charity dedicated to improving the lives of people in our community, particularly those who are lonely or isolated, by fostering social connection and support.
In 2024, #TeamWelcomm took part in a 10K Inflatable Run, raising £1,103 for VASL. This exceeded our goal and supported the charity’s work to improve social connection and wellbeing in our community.
