On Tuesday 27th January and Wednesday 28th January, our team was proud to attend the two-day Boarding Schools’ Association (BSA) Annual Conference, held at the Crowne Plaza, Nottingham, where we showcased our school security and safety solutions. Representing the business were our CEO, Business Development Manager and Product Development Manager, who engaged with school leaders from across the UK to discuss the evolving security landscape within boarding education. The event provided an excellent opportunity to meet new schools and demonstrate how our integrated safety and security solutions are helping to strengthen safeguarding across the sector.
Throughout the conference, our team delivered live demonstrations from our stand, using display screens and working products to showcase our technology in action. Leveraging the full ecosystem of Motorola Solutions technology, we demonstrated how integrating CCTV, door entry access systems, HALO Smart Sensors and intelligent communications enhances safeguarding, operational efficiency and overall school security. The strong engagement and quality conversations across the two days reinforced the increasing importance of proactive, integrated security systems within boarding environments.
One of the key themes at this year’s conference was the growing challenge of vaping on school sites. Boarding schools, in particular, face unique safeguarding pressures when managing discreet or higher-risk areas such as bathrooms and residential spaces, where traditional surveillance methods are not appropriate. We saw significant interest in HALO Smart Sensors, which detect vaping and monitor air quality in real time, without the use of cameras or recording devices.
